The month of July has arrived and our pick for the month is The Dragon Stirs: The New Silk Road by Bob Teoh & Ong Juat Heng.

What is the book about?

China is re-carving the ancient Silk Road with the grandest, most technologically advanced tools as her most ambitious project in history.  This book discusses on “The New Silk Road” which was initiated by China and how it affects Malaysia.

Why this book?

We chose this book for its discussion from Malaysia’s perspective. This helps Malaysians to understand further how the New Silk Road initiative affects Malaysia and it’s nation. More importantly, this book also tells the story of how Malaysian politicians embrace the idea of the New Silk Road. Reading this book provokes us to think in depth about the implications of The New Silk Road onto Malaysians.
